SmartBin: every bin, every route, accounted for

SmartBin turns waste collection into live, verifiable data. Bins and garbage sheds carry QR labels, collectors scan them with an app that works without signal, and the people who answer for a clean city watch the round on a live map and report on it from the same records.

From the bin to the board

One scan. Five uses.

A complaint about an overflowing bin is too often the first sign that a round was missed. SmartBin makes the record at the bin, at the moment of collection, and every screen and report after that reads the same record.

01 Scan

The collector points the phone at the QR label. Time, collector, route and GPS fix are recorded.

02 Sync

No signal behind the block? The scan waits on the phone with its own time and uploads itself later.

03 See

The live map turns the bin collected within seconds, for the office, the contractor and the supervisor.

04 Act

Damage, overflow or dumping reported from the field lands on a desk with photos and position.

05 Report

Performance per route and cycle, missed bins and shed cleanings, drawn from those same scans.

Everything a collection operation runs on

Six modules. One record.

Live operations

Every bin collected or not and every shed cleaned or not, on a map that updates itself, with any past day one click away.

The collector app

Quick scan, my route, shed forms and problem reports, online or off, in Bahasa Melayu or English.

Garbage sheds

Rumah sampah cleanings recorded with before and after photos, a comment and a bulk waste flag.

Issue reports desk

Problems sent from the field, sorted open and resolved, with where they were reported and where the item is.

Dashboard and reports

Cycle progress, route performance, missed and displaced bins, approvals, exported to Excel or PDF.

Recycling pickups

For recycling centres: registered premises ask for a pickup, collectors accept, the scan proves it, the load is weighed.

01 / Live map

The round, as it happens

The live collection map marks every bin and shed as the scans arrive, every few seconds. Choose yesterday or any date and the same map becomes that day's history, with a report of it underneath.

  • Collected and not yet collected, cleaned and not yet cleaned
  • Percentages per route and per main zone for any day
  • Recorded position against last scan, corrected in one click
  • Scans made too far from the bin flagged or refused
  • OpenStreetMap with satellite view, or Google Maps

02 / The SmartBin app

Point the camera. That is the scan.

Collectors work from one app with no account to remember. It reads codes one after another, tells a bin from a shed by itself, and keeps working where the signal does not.

Quick scan

A row of bins in one sweep, a result card for each, the flashlight on by itself after 7 pm.

No signal needed

Scans and photos wait on the phone and upload themselves, never twice.

My route

What is left today, as a list or a map, with directions to the next bin.

Two languages

03 / Garbage sheds

Garbage sheds, with the evidence

A rumah sampah is a managed point like a bin. Scanning its code opens a cleaning form: the photos you require, a comment, and whether bulk waste was found that the normal round cannot take.

04 / Issue reports

Problems from the field reach a desk

A damaged bin, an overflowing shed or illegal dumping is reported from the app with photos and the position it was sent from. Staff see it beside where the item is registered, note what was done and close it.

The figures a contract review starts from

Month-end no longer means rebuilding the month from logbooks. The dashboard shows cycle progress live, and the reports answer what a contract manager asks, from the scans themselves.

  • Performance: collected against expected, per route and cycle
  • Uncollected: what was missed, by bin or by route
  • Displaced: scans made away from the bin, on a map
  • Approvals: contractors' requests for missed bins, with history

Every list and report exports to Excel, CSV, Word, PDF, text or an image.

06 / Recycling

Recycling pickups, on request

A module for recycling centres. Shops, offices, schools and blocks register once; when recyclables are ready they ask for a pickup with one tap, follow the collector on the way, and see every pickup and its weight afterwards.

  • Premises registered with code, address, person in charge and GPS
  • One to five stars and a comment from the premises
A pickup, step by step
  1. Request sent
The premises asks for a pickup with one tap.
  2. Collector accepted
Taken from the centre's open list.
  3. On the way
The premises sees an arrival estimate.
  4. Picked up
The premises' QR code is scanned on site.
  5. Weighed
The load is recorded in kilograms at the centre.

What you get

Your installation. Your routes. Your data.

01 An installation of your own

One installation and one database for your organisation, not a share of someone else's.

02 Your estate, loaded

Zones, routes, locations, bins and sheds from the lists you keep, codes generated where you have none.

03 Labels, printed

QR sheets two to ten a row, in colour or monochrome, and new bins take their position from their first scan.

04 Contractors inside, on your terms

They see only their own routes. Roles are built from 42 permissions.

05 Your words, two languages

Rename the system's own terms in Bahasa Melayu and English; the app follows.

06 The app, from your system

Collectors install the Android app from your system's own page, and it updates itself.

Clean streets are a data problem. Start with one zone.

We load one zone of yours, print its labels, and run a four-week pilot with your contractor's crew. Then we review it together from SmartBin's own reports.
